Medicals for Mascherano, Messi, Alves, Neymar Jr and Ter Stegen

The two Argentinians, not due back until Monday, report back early for preseason duty

Five more players took medical examinations on Thursday morning and are ready to join in with the preseason preparations. These are Javier Mascherano, Leo Messi, Dani Alves, Neymar Jr and Marc-André Ter Stegen.

The two Argentinians were not actually due back until next Monday but have decided to re-join their colleagues earlier than scheduled. Dani Alves and Neymar Jr were also given extended holidays due to their participation in the Copa America, while Ter Stegen, who played for Germany at the European U21 Championship, did go on the US Tour but has yet to take the routine medical checks.

That means the only player that is still away on holiday, and who will be arriving on Monday, is Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.
